Why This Seat Matters
The Utah House of Representatives shapes state law on everything from education policy and individual rights to how communities grow and manage their resources. House District 54 sits in Utah County North — a fast-growing area where decisions about housing, water, parental rights, and personal freedoms land directly on families every day. Kristen is the incumbent, seeking re-election in the June 23, 2026 primary, and the district deserves a representative with the track record and the tenacity to keep doing the work.
Meet Kristen
Kristen Chevrier didn’t arrive at the Capitol as a career politician. She spent decades earning her way there. She and her husband, Brian, met at BYU and have lived in Highland for over 30 years — raising five children and welcoming three grandchildren into the community they chose and never left. That history isn’t background. It’s the foundation of why she ran, and why she keeps showing up.
Before she ever held elected office, Kristen was already deep in the fight. She spent more than 20 years as a citizen lobbyist at the Utah legislature and in Washington, D.C., working on homeschool protections, the effort to overturn Common Core, and the preservation of Utah’s caucus convention primary system. She co-founded and leads a Utah advocacy organization focused on informed consent and consumer protection — work that grew directly out of her experience navigating chronic illness in her own children and grandchildren. She wrote and edited Republican Party training materials, organized statewide candidate debates, taught parliamentary procedure to delegates, and helped compile “The Caucus Booklet” in both its 2014 and 2024 editions. For three decades, she built the skills, the relationships, and the resolve that legislative work actually requires.
Now she’s putting all of it to use. Her record as an incumbent has produced results with national reach — and she’s not finished.
What She’s Running On
Parental Rights & Individual Health Freedom — She’s been fighting for the rights of parents in healthcare and education long before it became a popular cause. Her legislative work has focused on restoring the doctor-patient relationship, reducing agency overreach, opposing medical mandates, and protecting food supply integrity. The SNAP Funding Amendments and Foods Available in Schools legislation she championed made Utah the first state in the nation to pass those reforms — and the ripple effects are still spreading.
Responsible Growth & Property Tax Relief — District 54 is growing, and Kristen knows that growth managed poorly costs everyone. She’s focused on finding the right balance between new construction and the character of the communities that already exist, and on property tax adjustments that reflect what families can actually afford.
Local Food Production & Water — Kristen takes seriously what it means to govern in a desert. She supports policies that strengthen local food production and keep Utah’s water future secure — decisions that sound abstract until your community is actually facing them.
Data Security & Election Integrity — Kristen has been a consistent voice for protecting personal data and securing Utah’s elections. Residents deserve to know that their private information is protected and that their vote counts.
The Field
Kristen Chevrier ran uncontested at the Utah County North convention, securing the Republican nomination. She is the incumbent, and she brings something no challenger can replicate: a record. Decades of grassroots activism, landmark legislation with national reach, and the kind of constituent accessibility that doesn’t show up in a press release. That’s why we’re proud to endorse her.
