ABOUT Ariel

Ariel Defay is a lifelong Utahn and third generation resident of Davis County, deeply committed to serving her community through thoughtful and effective public policy. Born and raised in Utah, she developed an early appreciation for the values that make the state strong, family, hard work, and community.

Ariel earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Utah State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Ohio University. She began her career as a policy staffer in the Ohio House of Representatives, where she gained firsthand experience in crafting and advancing sound public policy.

Alongside her public service, Ariel and her husband are small business owners, giving her a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Utah families and entrepreneurs. This combination of business and legislative experience shapes her approach to policymaking.

Now serving her third term in the Utah House of Representatives, Ariel has focused on key issues including education, artificial intelligence, business development, infrastructure, and economic growth. She is a strong believer in conservative principles and credits them as a key factor in Utah’s success as a well managed and thriving state.

Ariel is passionate about preserving Utah’s family centered values and ensuring the state remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. She is excited to continue that work as she looks ahead to her next campaign for the Utah House of Representatives.
