ABOUT Chris

Chris McConnehey is a lifelong West Jordan resident, husband, and father of five boys who grew up watching neighbors build something worth keeping, and who has spent his adult life doing the same.

Growing up in West Jordan, he learned early that strong communities don't just happen, they have to be built. After earning degrees in finance and an MBA, he went on to serve as a volunteer firefighter and EMT before bringing that same commitment to public service to the West Jordan City Council.

He served on the Council for 12 years, working on the day-to-day decisions that actually affect families. From water infrastructure and public safety staffing to fiscal discipline and protecting local control, Chris consistently pushed back against unfunded mandates and one-size-fits-all solutions that ignore neighborhood realities.

He's running for the Utah House because he's seen firsthand how state decisions land at the street level, and how important it is to bring local perspective to the Legislature.

He brings the analytical discipline of a career spent using data to make better decisions, the practical experience of more than a decade in local government, and the priorities of a dad who wants his five boys to grow up with the same strong values and community he did.
