Why This Seat Matters

Utah Senate District 5 spans Weber, Davis, and part of Morgan Counties — a broad stretch of northern Utah that deserves a senator who shows up, stays in contact, and gets things done. It’s a district that has seen what a determined, constituent-focused representative can accomplish. Now the question is whether those same results can scale to the Senate. The November 3, 2026 election will answer that.

Meet Jill

Jill Koford is a lifelong Weber County resident and small business owner who turned a bold campaign promise into a concrete track record. In 2024, she flipped the only Utah House seat held by a Democrat — one of the most contested and expensive races in House history — and she won by committing to three things: more representation, more communication, and more results. She has delivered on all three.

When Jill learned that property tax relief was a top concern for her constituents, she didn’t just note it — she worked with her colleagues to pass legislation that delivered meaningful relief. She hosts regular town halls, meets with community advisory boards throughout the district, sends a monthly newsletter, and keeps constituents updated through social media. In the House, she’s passed legislation expanding affordability options for Utah families, protecting the Great Salt Lake, and holding big tech accountable for its use of public resources.

She’s not running from a record. She’s running on it.

What She’s Running On

Consistent Communication — Jill made a promise when she first ran: her constituents would hear from her, and their concerns would make it to the Capitol. She’s kept that promise through regular town halls, community advisory board meetings, and a monthly newsletter. In the Senate, she’ll bring that same commitment to a larger district.

Trusted Representation — Flipping a Democrat-held seat in one of the most contested races in recent House history required more than a solid platform — it required earning the trust of voters who weren’t ready to default to the Republican. Jill built that trust by listening and then acting on what she heard.

Proven Results — Jill’s first term wasn’t spent warming a seat. She helped pass meaningful property tax relief, expanded affordability options for Utah families, worked to protect the Great Salt Lake, and pushed for accountability from big tech on public resource use. Those aren’t talking points — they’re a record she can point to.

The Field

Jill Koford ran uncontested at the Davis County convention, securing the Republican nomination. She will be on the November 3, 2026 general election ballot with a proven track record of winning tough elections and following through in office. We believe that record will resonate across a broader Senate district. That’s why we’re proud to endorse her.
