Why This Seat Matters
House District 44 covers South Jordan and West Jordan — two of the fastest-growing communities in Utah’s southwest valley. Decisions made in this seat shape everything from school funding and road infrastructure to housing costs and business growth. With the right representation, District 44 can be a model for how Utah manages growth without sacrificing quality of life.
Meet Jordan
Jordan Teuscher has called the southwest Salt Lake Valley home his entire life. He graduated with honors from Brigham Young University before earning his law degree from J. Reuben Clark Law School, going on to build a career as an attorney and director of strategic planning. He and his wife Aliona — who immigrated to the United States from Ukraine — are raising their three children in South Jordan, where Jordan coaches youth sports and stays deeply rooted in the community he serves.
First elected in 2021, Jordan hit the ground running in the Utah House. He led legislation on child online safety that earned national recognition, and has consistently worked to address the infrastructure, education, and fiscal challenges that matter most to families in his district. He doesn’t just show up for votes — he shows up for his neighbors.
What drives Jordan is simple: he wants the community where he grew up and is raising his own kids to remain a great place to live. That means fighting for schools that prepare children for real opportunities, roads that can handle growth, and a state government that lives within its means.
What He’s Running On
Education and Opportunities for Kids — Jordan believes every child in District 44 deserves a strong start. He has been a consistent advocate for policies that expand educational opportunity and protect students — including his nationally recognized work on child online safety.
Transportation and Infrastructure — The southwest valley is growing fast, and the roads need to keep up. Jordan has championed the Bangerter Highway freeway conversion and the Mountain View Corridor to reduce congestion and support long-term regional mobility.
Responsible Taxes and Cost of Living — Families are feeling the squeeze. Jordan is committed to keeping Utah’s fiscal house in order and opposing tax increases that make it harder for working families to get ahead.
Economic Growth and Innovation — A thriving local economy means more jobs and opportunity for District 44 residents. Jordan supports policies that attract business, reward innovation, and keep Utah competitive.
The Field
Jordan Teuscher won 62.5% of the delegate vote at the Salt Lake County convention, securing the Republican nomination — though a primary will still be held because his opponent collected signatures. As the incumbent with five years of proven legislative experience and strong community ties, he is well positioned to continue his work for District 44. That's why we're proud to endorse him.
