Why This Seat Matters

Senate District 6 covers Kaysville and surrounding Davis County communities — a region that needs steady, results-driven leadership as it navigates growth, fiscal pressures, and the challenges families face every day. With the current senator retiring, this seat is open and consequential. The right person here will bring real executive experience, deep community ties, and the backbone to fight for Davis County values at the state level.

Meet Tami

Tami Tran’s story begins in Seoul, South Korea. Adopted as an infant, she became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1979 — a journey that shaped her belief in hard work, personal responsibility, and the promise of America. She has called Kaysville home for decades, where she and her husband have been married for 35 years and are proud parents and grandparents.

Tami built a career as a CEO and business owner before stepping into public service. She served on the Kaysville City Council before being elected Mayor in 2021, and has built a record as a collaborative, data-driven executive who brings private-sector discipline to government. She chairs the Davis Technical College Board of Trustees and has served as Past Chair of the Davis County Council of Governments — developing the regional relationships that turn good intentions into actual results. In 1991, she and her husband legally sponsored seven immediate family members from Vietnam, personally assuming full financial responsibility until they were self-sufficient. That’s not a campaign talking point — it’s who she is.

What drives Tami is straightforward: she believes government works best when it’s honest, lean, and focused on the people it serves. She’s running for Senate District 6 to bring that same no-nonsense, results-first approach from City Hall to the Capitol.

What She’s Running On

Fiscal Responsibility — Tami believes government should live within its means, fund only core services, eliminate waste, and spend taxpayer dollars with the discipline she has applied throughout her business career and tenure as Mayor. Efficient, accountable spending isn’t a slogan for her — it’s how she operates.

Honest, Transparent Leadership — Tami leads by listening first, communicating clearly, and bringing people together around practical solutions. Her approach to governance is grounded in integrity, openness, and a belief that building real consensus produces better results than political grandstanding.

Constitutional Principles — Tami believes in protecting individual freedom, limiting government overreach, and ensuring that government empowers citizens rather than creating dependency. She is committed to upholding the Constitution as the foundation of sound, responsible policy.

The Field

Tami Tran won 60% of the delegate vote at the Davis County convention, securing the Republican nomination — though a primary will still be held because her opponent collected signatures. With the retiring incumbent's full endorsement behind her, she is the clear standard-bearer for conservative, results-driven leadership in this district. That's why we're proud to endorse her.
