ABOUT Jake

I grew up right here in Utah, in a single-income household with eleven kids. My first job was milking cows and picking corn for local farmers. We didn’t have much, but we had a strong sense of responsibility—to each other, to our work, and to our community.

I learned about the power of creative solutions early. My mom would make homemade loaves of bread to pay for piano lessons, vet bills, and sports. Those loaves of bread represented a commitment to self-reliance and looking to our community, not the government.

My upbringing shaped the conservative values I still hold today: individual responsibility and self-reliance, fiscal discipline, pride in honest work, and a belief in the power of a strong community.

I earned my business degree from BYU’s Marriott School of Management. In my career, I’ve worked at fortune 100 companies like Goldman Sachs and Google, and right here in Utah’s tech sector at Qualtrics. I lead large teams around the world, managing people and global operations, and tackling complex challenges where clarity and follow-through matter.

I have been deeply involved in local and statewide Republican leadership, having served as Chair of the Salt Lake County GOP Convention for the past two years. I’ve also been a precinct officer and state and county delegate, and now serve on the Utah Republican State Central Committee. I am a vocal advocate for a broad, solutions-focused Republican Party, leaning into President Ronald Reagan’s vision of a “big tent” coalition grounded in conservative principles and civic respect.

I know how to make effective conservative policy and I know the people involved. I’m running to lead within the Republican caucus, advocate effectively for District 48, and deliver practical results that position our community as a leader for the long term.
