Kent Davis is running for Salt Lake County District Attorney because he believes the office has drifted from its core mission: holding violent criminals accountable while investing in smarter solutions for non-violent offenders. After watching years of headline-making leadership failures — confirmed by a December 2025 legislative audit — Kent knows Salt Lake County deserves a DA who shows up every day with the experience, integrity, and urgency the job demands. Kent has served his community professionally as a federal judicial law clerk, an attorney advisor with the United States Department of Justice, and, over four years, as a Deputy District Attorney in Salt Lake County, where he tried felony cases and built the office's cybercrime prosecution unit. He is licensed to practice in four states and the 9th Circuit, holds advanced credentials in cybersecurity, chaired the Utah State Bar's Cyberlaw Section, and currently serves as a member of the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Professional Conduct and the Utah Supreme Court Ad Hoc Committee on Regulatory Reform.

Before going to law school, Kent served as an Infantry Captain in the U.S. Army — Airborne and Ranger qualified, twice deployed to Iraq, and decorated with the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's Badge. That service taught him that leadership is not a title, but a daily commitment to the people counting on you. Kent and his wife are raising their two children in Cottonwood Heights, where they have built their lives and their community. He is running to be a DA Salt Lake County can trust — principled, prepared, practical, and present.
