ABOUT Mike

Mike Bird is running for Salt Lake County Council District 3, seeking to proudly represent Murray, Taylorsville, West Jordan, Midvale, West Valley City, and South Salt Lake.

Born and raised in Murray, Mike and his wife, Kim, are now raising their four sons in the same community that shaped him. Like so many families across Salt Lake County, he understands the importance of safe neighborhoods, affordable living, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and responsibly.

With 15 years of experience as a healthcare administrator, Mike has managed complex budgets and has led teams focused on delivering results. A proud graduate of Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah, he holds degrees in Business and Finance and currently serves on the SLCC Board of Trustees, chairs the SLCC Alumni Board, and serves on the NeighborWorks Murray Advisory Board. Throughout his career and community service, Mike has remained committed to giving back in meaningful ways.

Mike believes county government plays a vital role in everyday life, from public safety to responsible budgeting and essential services families rely on. He is running to bring steady, common-sense leadership that respects taxpayers, strengthens communities, and keeps families at the center of every decision.
